The cable-stayed 1.118 m long bridge will cross the canal north of the Bridge of the Americas. Along with six lanes for cars, the bridge will also accommodate two further lanes for the Metro Line 3 and footpaths, with a total width of 51 m. The main bridge will have two towers with an inverted Y shape and a total height of about 185 m, including 110 m above deck.
Clearance above the waterway will be at least 75 m across a 350 m-wide channel to allow the passage of the largest ships using the Panama Canal.
The project includes the design of the main bridge, the approach viaducts and two interchanges, one in each side of the Canal, including more than 30 land side bridges, some existing bridges rehabilitation and some new footbridges.
Good luck to the Team!
