New Cross River Bridge and structural assessment of the existing suspension bridge, Nigeria-Cameroon

05 Nigeria-CameroonPEDELTA is developing the detailed design of the new bridge over Cross River, at the border of Nigeria and Cameroon. The contract includes the design of a new 150 m span bridge, its approaching roads and the structural assessment of the 1950’s existing suspension bridge. Main bridge will be by balance cantilever construction method.

 

The project is part of the Transport Facilitation Program for the Bamenda-Enugu Road Corridor, on the Lagos-Mombasa Trans-African Highway. It is financed by the African Development Bank and managed by a committee formed by ECCAS, ECOWAS, the Ministry of Public Works of Cameroon and the Federal Ministry of Works of Nigeria.
