A pedestrian and bicycle bridge that will connect parkland near the Toronto waterfront to Fort York will have stainless steel arches that will land in park space – the first stainless steel bridge to be built in Canada.
Dufferin Construction has been awarded the design and build contract for the US$14.8 million Fort York pedestrian and cycle bridge in Toronto, Canada.
Pedelta is lead designer for the design-build project awarded to Dufferin.
A new steel bridge over the Ter River in Girona, north east Spain, was opened to traffic at the end of March. Construction of the crossing had been delayed by the financial crisis, but now the city, which is 100km north of Barcelona, is home to a new landmark.
